Langkawi Kedah Malaysia Online
The Ibrahim Museum is actually the vacation home of ‘Ib’ as he is fondly known. When he is leaves his permanent home in Pantai Hills in Kuala Lumpur, he will come to the museum and stay in his retreat which offers a tranquil and peaceful environment around the edge of the rainforest here. Ib began in his humble beginnings in a poverty-stricken life where he went through a long journey to become an establish artist in Malaysia. It came upon him that he should help those who are in need to develop the arts and then a living center and space idea came up.
The term ‘living centre’ was important so he ensured that the museum was built without much ecological disruption which he did and then the show ‘Together Now – Ibrahim Hussein 1997’ was born. That would eventually grow and continue where today it is known as the LIFA (Langkawi International Arts Festival). He passed away on February 19, 2009 but his works live on and one can visit the artistic space from 9am to 7pm daily at Pantai Pasir Tengkorak, Jalan Datai.
