Located in Lubok Semilang in Langkawi Island, the Kampung Buku Malaysia or Malaysia Book Village is the first and only book village in the whole South East Asia region. The Village is part of the International Book Villages and Book Towns Movement. Other similar villages around the world include the Wales’ Hay-on-Wye, the Redu Village du Livre in Belgium, the Becherel and Montolieu Fontenoy-la-Joute in Francem the Fjaerland in Norway and Stillwater Minnesota in the United States among others.

One of the most unique attractions in Langkawi Island is the Taman Buaya Langkawi or the Langkawi Crocodile Farm where you will be able to walk with crocodiles, literally. Located about 32km towards the north of Kuah, it is located in Datai Bay, one of the main areas of the island. Here is where you will be able to see more than 1,000 crocodiles and alligators that include some rare species.
Registered under the CITES (Convention on International Trade and Endangered Species) organisation, it houses the most crocodile and alligator species in the world where you will be able to see and learn about the many types of crocodiles in the world.
